Research help with two RAF Officers

Going through more of the medal collection I inherited…….

can  someone please help with info on these two officers to start off….

Major C Defries RFC / RAF

2nd Lt R C E Vernede RFA/ RAF 

 

any help gratefully received

thank you Both.

so Defries was a Technical Officer..............and  Vernede was a Kite Balloon Observer.. R F A but attached to the RFC/RAF where it says Regiment or Corps, it states RFA / 6th DAC   whats DAC ? 

if you don't mind, i'll ask for help on a few others..........its so nice to put information and gain knowledge of these brave chaps with their duly earned medals.

Thank you Charlie, sadly his record of service in the NA has no details other than his name...........

ive got his 3 WW1 medals and i'm going to frame them with a photo of a Kite Balloon ............

Vernede first went to France 27/9/15 as a Gunner, 60521.

Commission to Special Reserve, 3/9/17 I think.
