knittinganddeath Posted 6 January , 2023 Share Posted 6 January , 2023 La Guerre des Lulus is based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Régis Hautière & Hardoc. I read the first volume and enjoyed it quite a lot. Lucas, Lucien, Luigi and Ludwig are the “Lulus” of the book (and film)'s title. They live at the abbey orphanage in Valencourt, Picardie, and are mistakenly left behind when the village is evacuated at the beginning of the war. They are later joined by another straggler, Luce, who has been separated from her parents. I found the original art to be very thoughtfully drawn and am doubtful that live action really brings anything new or interesting to the story, but I guess that I'll find out soon enough!
