8055Bell Posted 4 January , 2023 Share Posted 4 January , 2023 (edited) I think I have the right man but the address is not the same. Isaac Jones was previously a member of 6th VB Manchesters. He served overseas with the RFA and LC. He was discharged unfit due to epilepsy on 25/11/1918. The service record said the condition was not due to service but he received a pension, indicating (unverified) aggravation. An Isaac Jones died on 02/01/1921 aged 36. 21 Sarah St, Oldham. The man in the service record was the husband of Hannah Jones of 19 Naseby Street. There is a reasonable prospect the DC will state Army Pensioner and next of kin to verify ID. The cause of death may state epilepsy. Edited 5 January , 2023 by 8055Bell Correcting No. TY M. Also the year of death. More haste. Less Speed... Matlock1418 Posted 4 January , 2023 Share Posted 4 January , 2023 Likely a typo in title [16041] but his RFA number was 160401 - WFA/Fold3 MIC and disability Pension index card & Ledger are available Address 19 Naseby St, Oldham - Awarded a disability pension of 13/8 pw from 27.11.18 to 2.9.19 - unfortunately the Award file is likely long lost, typically deliberately destroyed after its use was ended. Starling & Lee's 'No Labour, No Battle' gives his 274497 LC number as from approx. June to September 1917 M
David Porter Posted 4 January , 2023 Share Posted 4 January , 2023 Service number 160401 puts him arriving at No. 2 Depot RFA, Preston, around September 10, 1916. This would fit with an Oldham address.
