8055Bell Posted 30 December , 2022 Share Posted 30 December , 2022 Pte 15275 Thomas William Fishwick – 7th KORL Thomas was wounded in the arm in 1916 and received a pension after discharge. A pension review found “TB of Lungs Attr” on 14/11/1919, aged 25. He died in Halifax Sanitorium on 30/11/1919. His father, John William Fishwick lived at 2 Green Lane, Failsworth. Thomas was buried in Failsworth Cemetery on 06/12/1919. I’m not sure if the TB “Attr” would be accepted as attributable. Equally, Thomas has spent time on working reserve in Bradford pit, so we may not be able to prove he was mobilised at the time.
PaulC78 Posted 30 December , 2022 Share Posted 30 December , 2022 Looks a bit iffy to me. Pension card says he died from tb on 13/11/1919, but also says "disease contracted after discharge": https://www.fold3.com/image/668688940?xid=1022 Medical report in his file does say "tuberculosis of lungs: attr" (02/10/1919), but directly under that it also says "tuberculosis of lungs: not due: nil" (14/11/1919), with an alternative date of death as 30/11/1919. Cause of discharge was wounds rather than sickness.
