Hi Ian, my Great Grandfather, Sergeant Albert Yerrell, 32086, served with the Royal Garrison Artillery between 19/09/09 and 04/06/21 when he was transferred to the reserve. Prior to being deployed to France in 1916 Albert was with 99th Company located at the POW Camp at Verdala, Malta. I am currently applying to the MoD for his records in an effort to confirm which unit he was with in France. Amusing story. After leaving the army Albert worked as a bus driver in North London. During the General Strike the bus company had a Vickers machine gun deployed on the roof of the garage to deter strikers. As Albert had been a Sergeant he was posted to the roof to man the mg ....
