I am looking for information on the battle of a village.

Good evening,

According to the village archives, "Eecke" was surrendered by French and English in October 1914. Is there any way to find out which regiment it was or to have more details about this event.

Do you mean Eecke, between Hazebrouck and Poperinge?

If so I'm not sure it was surrendered by anyone. I think as part of what is known as the race for the sea, it was just occupied by the Germans.

The nearest units shown in 'A Military Atlas of the First World War' on 9/10th October, are 6th French Cavalry Division at Cassel & Hazebrouck and 87th French Territorial Div at Poperinge. A check of these units histories may reveal further info

That's the one I was looking at, between Cassel and Godeswaersvelde. I think Augustin has asked this before. The nearest Germans were, I think, between Armentieres and La Bassee in October 1914.
