pierssc Posted 12 December , 2022 Share Posted 12 December , 2022 (edited) It is well known that 56 made a number of alterations to the SE5 as delivered, including removing the "glasshouse". But they still needed to replace it with some sort of windshield. At that point they would either have to make one from scratch, or use an existing part which was available. So if the Avro windshield fitted, why not use it? The one in the photo above does look very like the two examples given earlier, with the sole exception of the parts fixing it to the SE airframe... it might even turn out to have originally been designed for a car!
