paul guthrie Posted 19 June , 2003 Posted 19 June , 2003 I am sure you know the Machine Gun Corps Old Comrades Association is still active, head is a lady named Judith Lapin, they have a web site.
Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 19 June , 2003 Posted 19 June , 2003 Thanks guys. Paul - I have had the pleasure. Ian
Staffsyeoman Posted 19 June , 2003 Posted 19 June , 2003 Ian; 200 Bn served with 59 Div from Oct 19. The genealogy is difficult as for a fleeting moment in Aug 19 there were 2 '200 Bns'. Captain BF Whiteley DCM was 'B' Coy cdr in 200 Bn in F&F and went to Russia (Murmansk) in Mar 19 with a composite force from 200 Bn and elements 201 Bn.
Staffsyeoman Posted 19 June , 2003 Posted 19 June , 2003 Sorry! Rewind.... the MGC force to Murmansk was elements 8 Bn, 19 Bn, 201 Bn. 200 Bn's WO95 ends on 31 Oct 18; they were in area of Noeux-les-Mines. NFI on 200 Bn, no further official docs we can find.
Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 20 June , 2003 Posted 20 June , 2003 Phil, Rescued again by one of the gang of four. Ta, Ian
