Muso Posted 4 December , 2022 Share Posted 4 December , 2022 In the service record of a seaman in 1940, under the heading "Non-substantive rating" are the abbreviations "L.R.3." and "L.R.3. (P)". Can anyone tell me what they stand for?
HERITAGE PLUS Posted 5 December , 2022 Share Posted 5 December , 2022 (edited) This Forum is for WW1 subjects only so the Moderators will shortly close this thread. However, in relation to RN Gunnery in WWII, LR3 = Layer Rating 3rd Class. P = Probationary Insignia below. If you need any further help on your man's service or another WW2 matter then you should post a query here: http://ww2talk.com/index.php Dave Edited 5 December , 2022 by HERITAGE PLUS Added info
Muso Posted 5 December , 2022 Author Share Posted 5 December , 2022 Many thanks Dave, I am most grateful. He had WW1 service so I slipped into the wrong period. Regards, David H.
