FROGSMILE Posted 1 December , 2022 Share Posted 1 December , 2022 1 hour ago, EDWARD1 said: It is The Royal Militia of the Island of Jersey I concur with EDWARD1. The insignia is very distinctive. It’s possible that when the Volunteer Force was resurrected in 1917 by wholesale conversion of the Volunteer Training Corps that the same badge was adopted to replace the general service badge that had been decreed initially. Most VF units adopted either their local regiments badge, or a discrete and short lived one of their own design.

tonydb Posted 1 December , 2022 Share Posted 1 December , 2022 Pretty sure there are right facing aswell as left facing badges used in the cap. Most likely collars used as cap badges. Tony.
poona guard Posted 1 December , 2022 Author Share Posted 1 December , 2022 Thanks, I hadn't noticed that but did wonder why the cap badge was so small. Dave
