Adnan Dohgee Posted 27 November , 2022 Share Posted 27 November , 2022 Anyone wise out there to guide? I was reading "September Evening" book by Barry Diggens, about Werner Voss' last flight. In it there is reference to the crash site being inspected some weeks after by Lt Barfoot-Saunt. The DR1 being new thus I guess of more interest. A report was created from the inspection I guess for Farnborough AID? I note Barfoot-Saunt also inspected and reported on Richthofen's DR1 in 4/18. I cannot find anything much about the process of recovery and inspection of crashed enemy planes. It obviously happened a bit as at the end of the war there was an exhibition at Royal Agricultural Hall of downed craft. Anyone know what that process was by whom and where?? quemerford Posted 7 December , 2022 Share Posted 7 December , 2022 There was a very detailed series of articles in Cross & Cockade a year or so ago. Might be worth a look.
