Ralph J. Whitehead Posted 1 April , 2005 Share Posted 1 April , 2005 I was wondering if anymembers might have any details, history, etc. of the Turken Kaserne located in Munich. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Ralph
bobpike Posted 1 April , 2005 Share Posted 1 April , 2005 Ralph, Idly 'googling' I found this, is it of any relevance? Although the army failed to give Hitler his back pay, he had only a few days to return to his replacement regiment in Eisner's new Bavarian People's Republic. When Hitler arrived in Munich two days later, he checked in at the List Regiment barracks on Turken Strasse. He was immediately repulsed by the mostly younger and rebellious soldiers in the replacement battalion.
Ralph J. Whitehead Posted 2 April , 2005 Author Share Posted 2 April , 2005 Thanks for the information. I came across a photo of a Bavarian Regiment leaving the Kaserne in 1914. Considering what is available on the internet I find it strange that there is not more about this spot. I will keep looking, thanks again.
