Mont Noir Officers Rest Station

An Officers Rest Station was establishing by the 3rd Division in April 1915 at Mont Noir Chateau, and later that month admitted officers from all divisions of the 2nd Corps.

I think this ORS was used probably until 1918, but I am really struggling to find very much information. I have found a postcard  which I think was of this medical facility when it was destroyed. Other than that very little information. With officers stationed here I would have expected to have found group photographs of men recuperating at the chateau.

You are certainly at the correct Chateau David, there is a bit about it here from Major & Mrs HoltÍs Battlefield Guide to Ypres Salient and Passchendaele, if I have the correct place. An interesting note is that Monty of El Almein was wounded near here and a grave dug for him as he was in such a bad state.  link; https://books.google.ie/books?id=6PVsBQAAQBAJ&pg=PA49&lpg=PA49&dq=mont+noir+chateau+ypres+belgium&source=bl&ots=XTejvT1TxR&sig=ACfU3U2QjnyeSDg_cG1ZAFczTqZBK0F_ng&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi3u5uXiMD7AhUNfMAKHdqoCBE4KBDoAXoECBMQAw#v=onepage&q=mont noir chateau ypres belgium&f=false and some more pictures here; link https://westhoekverbeeldt.be/ontdek/?mode=gallery&view=horizontal&q=Mont Noir Chateau&rows=1&page=1 Google translate gives you the descriptions from Dutch (click on the photos for the descriptions). The Lady who lived at the Chateau was 'Marguerite Yourcenar' , a Wikipedia page tells a bit about her.
