clive_hughes Posted 15 November , 2022 Share Posted 15 November , 2022 Hi, A casualty whose case I'm writing up was located in July 1919 by an exhumation team at ref. 57d.X.23.c.5.7 under a wooden grave cross marked by the Graves Registration Unit. He had fallen in the attack by 7th Divn. troops at Quadrangle Trench on 5.7.1916, roughly south-west of Mametz Wood. I've tried entering the reference on the "Great War British Trench Map Coordinates Converter" site, but it won't work. Possibly because it seems not to like Internet Explorer? I'm happy to be pointed towards any similar converter site and to try again; but otherwise could someone please let me know where this burial was located? clive_hughes Posted 16 November , 2022 Author Share Posted 16 November , 2022 I'm much obliged LDT006, He wasn't far from the scene of the action. The website was easy to use, so will be of use and interest in its own right as well. Thanks again, Clive
