The British 34th Brigade BEF & LIX (59th) Brigade RFA.

At the battle of Thiepval (26-30 Sept 1916) the 34th Brigade BEF was positioned at Mouquet Farm.  The 59th Brigade RFA "appears" to have been in support.  Conclusive evidence is required.  What I have looking for is a war diary entry that ties both these brigades together at the battle.  A photograph taken on 4th Feb 1917 clearly shows gun pits at the quarry of Mouquet Farm, and it would be appreciated  to identify the artillery brigade that was there.

Thanks in advance.

The Headquarters of 59th Brigade RFA did not move to Mouquet Farm until November 12, 1916 having previously been near Ovillers-la-Boiselle. One or two batteries are reported in the vicinity around November 4, 1916. Cannot find any earlier reference for the farm or them supporting 34th Infantry Brigade. May have to go to a higher level diary to get a better picture.

Thank you both for you responses.

One of the batteries (A) of the 59th R.F.A. is recorded as preparing to moving (along with others) to the Quarry near Mouquet Farm on the 22 October 1916, well after the farm had been secured by the 34th infantry Brigade.

I could be wrong.
