Nicki Posted 30 March , 2005 Share Posted 30 March , 2005 Hello! Here again my question Where did the Royal Welsh Fusiliers spend Xmas 1914? The one I'm looking for is Cpt. C.I. Stockwell. He said there were Saxons opposite. Sorry, don't know neither his battalion nor his company. Please help soon. thanks
Muerrisch Posted 30 March , 2005 Share Posted 30 March , 2005 Captain Clifton Inglis Stockwell, 2RWF. Later Brigadier, chestful of medals. aka Buffalo Bill. A considered reply within a day or two.
CROONAERT Posted 30 March , 2005 Share Posted 30 March , 2005 Stockwell's diary states that the Battalion's right was upto the houses of Frelinghien, with the Germans occupying the brewery 150 yds away (Dec 3rd to 26th). The Germans opposite were part of the 133rd Saxon Infantry Regiment. Dave.
