marc leroux Posted 30 March , 2005 Share Posted 30 March , 2005 Of the 83 CEF soldiers buried in St. Margaret's, Bodelyddan, David Gillan, killed in the Kinmel Park riot of 1919 has a different headstone than the other soldiers, who all have the standard CWGC headstones. Does anyone have any idea why or how this came about. His family was a mining family in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, so they likely didn't have the money to put it up, although that is one possibility. Another is that the Canadians put it up to honour the only non-mutineer killed in the riot. Any information would be appreciated.
