basiloxford Posted 25 October , 2022 Share Posted 25 October , 2022 Hi everyone, I am hoping that someone on here has access to a unit history of the 215th Squadron R.A.F for August 1918. I am researching a guy named Reginald Clifford Burnham who according to his R.A.F service record was killed in action on August 26. What I would really like is to find out is exactly how he died. I know the Squadron was flying night bombing raids over Germany at this time, but Reginald's rank was Private 2nd class, so would he have flown on missions, or would he have been classed as ground-crew. His service number was 228441, and he originally joined the Royal Navy in March 1917, and served with the Royal Naval Air Service. His original rank was Officer Steward III. Any help would be very much appreciated. Regards, Barry.

basiloxford Posted 25 October , 2022 Author Share Posted 25 October , 2022 Many thanks for the reply Jon. I didn't realise that the Handley Page 0/4400 carried a crew of four. Thanks again, Barry.
