Eran Tearosh Posted 11 October , 2022 Share Posted 11 October , 2022 (edited) Just found this image in Alamy. The caption is: illustration, of how Allenby surrounded the 2 Turkish armies, 1917, WW1 https://www.alamy.com/illustration-of-how-allenby-surrounded-the-2-turkish-armies-1917-ww1-image154463229.html?imageid=62FBF6FA-7B7A-4E44-91BD-6A1EFA5B5535&p=256185&pn=1&searchId=39a5470161412c8cebc7f9a9db5efc81&searchtype=0 Quite strange. To start with, the caption is wrong - 1918, not 1917. The angle is weird, the mountains on the left don't look like this in reality and there are several mistakes in the captions within the original illustration. Yet, it is very interesting. I don't know the source - on the Alamy page it quotes: "Illustration from the history of the Great war published in 1921." Would love to find the book it's taken from. Any ideas of the source?
