Hello all,

I am sure I have known this information in the past from this forum but I cannot remember and I can’t find the answer in my notes.

Reading some war diaries relating to siege batteries and I see the details of the rounds fired but I can’t remember what P, S and M are for shell types.

can anyone explain them please? I presume they relate to HE, Smoke, etc. but I don’t want to assume/guess which one is which.

thank you in advance

Ed
