CWGC added the following casualties to the WW1 Roll of Honour today.

 

HIGHTON, Thomas

Corporal 39606

North Staffordshire Regiment

Died 29.04.19

Commemorated: United Kingdom Book of Remembrance

 

ROY, Lolit Kumar

Gentleman Cadet

Royal Military College Sandhurst

Died 01.12.20

Commemorated: United Kingdom Book of Remembrance

HIGHTON is apparently buried at Worksop (Retford Road) Cemetery, headstone to be installed by CWGC.

Cause of death was (i) influenza, (ii) broncho pneumonia, haemoptysis. Discharged medically unfit 19/09/1918, disability was tuberculous adentits (neck, axilla) and general debility, originating during pre-war service in India but aggravated during WW1. Pneumonia appears to have been a complication caused by the tb, but the medical report is hard to read.
