gedburke3 Posted 28 August , 2022 Share Posted 28 August , 2022 Hi all, I went to the Military Odyssey in Kent yesterday and whilst wandering around the stalls I bought the item pictured below. The seller indicated that it had once belonged to an FE8 aeroplane. Can any of you confirm that this is accurate and if not, suggest an alternative source? I want to frame it with a picture but it would be great to get it accurately identified. Kind regards and thanks in advance. Gerry
nils d Posted 31 August , 2022 Share Posted 31 August , 2022 OK gedberke you win the competition for the most badly cut out piece of fabric l have ever seen. Perhaps this is from the rudder of a BE2c 8431 which crashed at Kingsworth 20 September 1916.

gedburke3 Posted 2 September , 2022 Author Share Posted 2 September , 2022 Morning Mick, Thank you for your suggestion. That's certainly one that I hadn't considered. I suspect that I will never really get to confirm its identify. I am now in the process of trying to get it assessed to confirm if its genuine. I am still of the opinion that it is. Many thanks Gerry
gedburke3 Posted 3 September , 2022 Author Share Posted 3 September , 2022 Hi Nils, Be2c 8431 could also be a contender. Ill take a look at that one too. Cheers Gerry
