Mark Hone Posted 27 August , 2022 Share Posted 27 August , 2022 (edited) On one day of my forthcoming school battlefields tour we shall be passing close to the German Cemetery at Menen. Although I have always made a point of visiting German Cemeteries with groups, (including Lommel on the 2019 Arnhem Tour), I have never been to Menen, either as part of a tour or during private visits to the Ieper area. There are a few mentions of it on the Forum over the years but can anyone confirm whether there is good coach access to the site or have any other tips about visiting? AOK4 Posted 27 August , 2022 Share Posted 27 August , 2022 Hi Mark, I have written a book about the cemetery, there's definitely something to tell about the cemetery and its graves. Coach access may be a little bit challenging though if you haven't been there before. There's usually enough parking space nearby, but the street is rather narrow and a coach better drives a bit further to turn around after having dropped off the group. Mark Hone Posted 27 August , 2022 Author Share Posted 27 August , 2022 Thanks for this, I would like to visit but effective coach access is a vital aspect so I shall consider this carefully.
