Hi all,

I've begun my next research project on a BWM recipient (1039 Gunner Aubrey C. Lambert) of the Bermuda Contingent Royal Garrison Artillery.  Here's what I know so far.

Quote

Aubrey Lambert was born in Bermuda on 19 June 1898. He was the son of James Aubrey Lambert and Julia Curtis Stowe (1868-1908).

He joined the Bermuda Contingent Royal Garrison Artillery and was given service number 1039.

He returned to Bermuda on 1 July 1919.

After the war he married Isabell M Lambert (1901 - ?) and moved to the United States. He died in Plainfield, New Jersey on 13 May 1968, aged 69.

I'm struggling to find information on the B.C.R.G.A.  Can anyone point me in the direction of a good book or article on theunit and its experience during the Great War or further information on Gunner Lambert?

Thanks in advance.

Barney

Hello Barney. A good source of information on the B.C.R.G.A is their War Diary held online at the National Archives ref WO 95/397/5 which is free to download when registered. Page 80 to 93 is the relevant section and will give a great insight into the activities of the unit.
