the_ageing_young_rebel Posted 29 July , 2022 Share Posted 29 July , 2022 I've been researching my great uncle who served and died in the war for years now. Coming back to do more work in fits and starts. The map below is one that has proved incredibly useful in my research as it illustrates the attack in which he died on the 22nd August 1916. I beleive I found it via a google image search about 12 years ago though (or was sent it by another researcher) and would love to know its original source. Does anybody have any ideas where this may have been published originally? I've tried a reverse image search, but can't find anything
TEW Posted 29 July , 2022 Share Posted 29 July , 2022 Looks more like something you'd find in a official history, perhaps of the regiment or battalion. I can see 1/4 battalion HQ. but not which battalion it was. TEW
