Calling all CWGC experts....

I am looking at Pte 3533 C H Nicholls of the 1st/6th South Staffs.  He died on 16.7.16 in Kriegs Lazarette II in St Quentin; can anyone suggest where he may have been buried?

AOK - there seems to have been a bit of a muddle here.  The chap I am researching is indeed 3533.

The CWGC have 3533 on the Thiepval Memorial, dying on 1.7.16 - but "Soldiers Effects" has his date of death as 16.7.16 whilst a PoW at St Quentin.  There is also a newspaper story noting the death of 3533 H C Nicholls as a PoW in St Quentin; his family must have been informed of that fact by the ICRC, I presume.

Presumably the paperwork has been shuffled somewhere along the line; after all, they had a big job to do....

I have raised the matter with the CWGC.
