BillyH Posted 11 June , 2022 Share Posted 11 June , 2022 This IS Great War related. A clip is attached from a marriage certificate for an ex soldier. Can anyone suggest what his occupation was? When war was declared he was helping his father in a Drapers Shop. BillyH.

BillyH Posted 11 June , 2022 Author Share Posted 11 June , 2022 Thanks Dave. Crikey, that was unexpected! From a Draper's Shop Assistant to a Surgeon in 10 years. Sadly he died the year after the marriage aged 30. There is no probate record for him or I would have probably found out that he was a Medic. I wonder what he died of? BillyH. aconnolly Posted 18 June , 2022 Share Posted 18 June , 2022 Billy - MBChB is the basic medical degree - so not necessarily a surgeon, but definitely a doctor Andrew
