AOK4 Posted 2 June , 2022 Share Posted 2 June , 2022 Hello, Does anyone know where I could find S.S. 574 "Translation of German document by General Sixt von Armin on The Construction of Defensive Positions" online (perhaps in a Canadian/Australian/British war diary so that I can easily access it)? I'm looking for the 1917 document by the British Army. Jan

A Rankin Posted 2 June , 2022 Share Posted 2 June , 2022 Hi AOK4, There are copies of SS 574 held at the Imperial War Museum https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/1504022364 Australian War Museum https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/LIB34502 Library and Archives Canada http://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.redirect?app=fonandcol&id=3831237&lang=eng Archives New Zealand (in process of updating search functions, so old link is broken), but confirmed held Digital History Archive has a collection of items scanned from the US National Archives and Records Administration. The collection German Weapons & Tactics 1916-18 has SS 574. http://www.digitalhistoryarchive.com/wwi-documents--photos.html If you were looking for other German documents translated by allied forces, this would be a good collection to start. I'm not affiliated with the owner in any way, but I have purchased several collections and found them very useful. They are available quickly as a secure download. Hope that helps
