Conor Dodd Posted 23 March , 2005 Share Posted 23 March , 2005 Hi, I came across a reference to this man recieving the DCM but have been unable to follow it up anywhere else would anyone be able to help, I don't know weather there is a regimental history availible. His name is : 9694 Sgt. G. Schoales 2nd Bn. East Lancashire Regiment KIA 09/05/1915. I have his MID in the London Gazette, MIC, CWGC and Irelands Memorial Records details but only one reference to the DCM in those Conor

PhilB Posted 17 May , 2005 Share Posted 17 May , 2005 The EL history (p126) says A/Sgt Schoales 9694 was mentioned for conspicuous gallantry at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle. It doesn`t mention a DCM however. Phil B
