Blackblue Posted 28 May , 2022 Share Posted 28 May , 2022 (edited) Hello All, Wondered if anyone may have photographs or aerials of Berlin Wood in 28.D.10.c south west of Passchendaele? Interested in October 1917-February 1918. Rgds Tim Edited 28 May , 2022 by Blackblue
WhiteStarLine Posted 28 May , 2022 Share Posted 28 May , 2022 Hi Tim, Greetings and sorry for taking so long to respond. Is this one OK, from TrenchMapper (The Western Front Association)? It is from October 1917. Note that they show Berlin Wood 500m to the right of your reference. However, the other maps tag Berlin Wood as the wood in square c and call all of the RHS feature Augustus Wood. They have 84 georeferenced maps of this area including 4 aerials and 3 German and 1 French map. Anyone can view them (members get high resolution and free download). An opacity slider reveals the modern landscape. PM me for any further assistance, as we're only a few suburbs away! Cheers, Bill
Blackblue Posted 28 May , 2022 Author Share Posted 28 May , 2022 All of an hour Bill! That's great, much appreciated. I've also found an oblique at the IWM. Tim
Gus1914 Posted 28 May , 2022 Share Posted 28 May , 2022 There are some aerial photographs (Taken of a large area so not brilliantly detailed) on the Western Front Association’s Trench Mapper of the wood and surrounding area.

Blackblue Posted 28 May , 2022 Author Share Posted 28 May , 2022 (edited) Bill, I assume I'll have to wait for my registration to take effect. Would appreciate a blow up (as detailed as possible) of D.4, 5, 10 and 11 of these aerials if that's allowed: Name: Mosaic No. U1Sheet: 20 V, W, sheeet 28 D, EScale: 1:,5,000Edition: 21-Oct-17Branch Intelligence Section 21 Squadron RFC Edited 28 May , 2022 by Blackblue
