the_ageing_young_rebel Posted 11 May , 2022 Share Posted 11 May , 2022 I was just wondering if anybody watched WWI's Secret Shame: Shell Shock on the BBC tonight? It strays from the WW1 topic fairly rapidly to discus the history of modern conflict and its impact on our understanding of PTSD, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was stark, thoughful and largly without the sentimentality that can surround these topics. I'd recommend checking it out on iplayer if you have the time (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06r7tb1)
Tony Ferguson Posted 30 May , 2022 Share Posted 30 May , 2022 Yes I watched it and thought it was very informative- certainly added to the shell shock debate over WW1 veterans. More recently, I watched the programme by the BBC war reporter, Fergal Keane who has been diagnosed with PTSD. Also very informative and an interesting watch
