Perth Digger Posted 27 April , 2022 Share Posted 27 April , 2022 I'm sorry to keep asking very basic questions, but I'd be obliged for help on a couple of issues. 1) What is the difference between being posted and being attached? Is the latter just a temporary arrangement for a specific purpose? 2) From the Airhistory.org records of G.E. Ransom: what does SDF mean, please? Special ....? I don't know his forenames but he ended up as a Flight Commander. Thanks, Mike
John(txic) Posted 27 April , 2022 Share Posted 27 April , 2022 1) yes 2) Only guessing - special duties flight? I'm sure someone who knows better will be along soon.

Perth Digger Posted 27 April , 2022 Author Share Posted 27 April , 2022 Thanks, John and Acknown. I suppose Ransom had what today would be called a special skill set that explains the frequent attachments. Mike
