As the diarist seems to have recorded casualties carefully, and if your 19 Jun estimate is about right, I suspect that your namesake was wounded during the 'disastrous' raid on the German position at the 'crossroads in NO MANS LAND' on 20 Jun. Acknown Addition: Ancestry link. Addition 2: You probably have it, but pension card states that he was discharged on 06 Dec 16. No wounding date.
