Ozzie Posted 21 March , 2005 Share Posted 21 March , 2005 I have a copy of The Advance of the Eygptian Expeditionary Forse under Allenby July 1917-Oct 1918 Printed in 1919 in Cairo. Following are some examples of what is in it. It is (guess)150 pages of maps and info. If there is any interest I will scan onto CD and make available to interested people. Nick Posted 27 March , 2005 Share Posted 27 March , 2005 Ozzie, This is certainly something I'd love to be able to see more of. Your CD plans sound very interesting. Nick

MartinWills Posted 28 March , 2005 Share Posted 28 March , 2005 There are two editions of this item. The first (paperback) was produced in Cairo; a second edition (hardback) was produced by HMSO. The aim behind it was to produce a souvenir of the campaign for those involved so copies often have a soldiers name inscribed. The maps are excellent as are the orders of battle - overall it gives a fine impression of the campaign. It has become a collectable item partially because part of it was written by Lawrence of Arabia, though he is not formally credited as such.
