Acknown Posted 21 March , 2022 Share Posted 21 March , 2022 (edited) Essentially, he served in WW1: https://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/soldiers/how-to-research-a-soldier/campaign-medal-records/the-british-campaign-medals-for-the-great-war/. Any more details? The regiment and soldier's number should be on the rim. Acknown Addition: Ancestry records 42 Peter Davidsons having Medal Index Cards (MICs). Acknown Posted 21 March , 2022 Share Posted 21 March , 2022 (edited) Ok. Beyond my expertise, but medal cognoscenti will comment on its authenticity. It would be worth moving this to the 'Medals' area of the Forum, but I don't know how you do that. Perhaps a passing moderator will do it. depaor01 Posted 21 March , 2022 Share Posted 21 March , 2022 Most likely a Mercantile Marine recipient. They had only names and no regiment or number. Dave
Keith_history_buff Posted 21 March , 2022 Share Posted 21 March , 2022 A picture of the naming on the rim of the medal would be useful.

Dave There is one born 1878 Dundee, and the second was born in 1875 in Leith, so could be one of these two Scotsmen.
