The Loss of H.M. Minesweeper No. 847

H.M. Minesweeper No. 847- the pre-War Grimsby trawler the Lord Airedale - foundered with the loss of all hands during a storm in Bridlington Bay, East Yorkshire, 90 years ago this evening. One member of the Bridlington Lifeboat launching crew (my great-great grandfather) was also killed during attempts to reach the wreck. Full account here.

No 847 Grimsby registered GY.910, Lord Airedale was launched 1911 and was 215 tons, requisitioned February 1915 to November 1916 , given as mined 29th November 1916 off Sunk Light Vessel in Dittmar & Colledge.

Thanks for that Malcom - despite numerous trips to Kew checking up on this and other things, I seem to have neglected to check Lloyds for details of the ship! Hopefully I'll get a chance to add the information tonight.
