rolt968 Posted 9 March , 2022 Share Posted 9 March , 2022 A man I have been researching was a motorman when he enlisted in Glasgow at the end of May 1915. I had initially thought that he was a tram car driver. However I have been looking at the other threads about motormen and see that there are other interpretations. I think I have seen motorman used before to refer to a tram car driver in Glasgow but in those cases the connection to tram cars may have been made in the documents. What do colleagues think? I had always thought that a motorman in Glasgow at the time of WW1 was a tram driver. The entries in the earlier threads in the forum put doubt in my mind.
