Guest KLIFF SNOW Posted 16 June , 2003 Share Posted 16 June , 2003 Hello, I was wondering would anyone possibly know anything about the 5th Reserve Brigade RFA who where stationed in Athlone in Ireland in WW1. Also would anyone know the PRO ref for their diary especially around the period of June 1917. In relation to this would anyone have heard of the 25th reserve battery, could they have been a battery of this brigade?. thanks Klifton Snow

charlesmessenger Posted 16 June , 2003 Share Posted 16 June , 2003 Klifton Ian is right, there is no war diary at Kew, but you may find something more by contacting The Royal Artillery Institution, Old Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London SE18 4DN. What I can say is that you are actually referring to 5A Reserve Brigade, which consisted of 25th, 26th, and 27th Reserve Batteries. 5B Reserve Brigade was stationed in Edinburgh and 5C Reserve Brigade Charlton Park, London.
