This man died 1917 42062 buried Rochdale Cemetery,(as W.Gourley) a Belfast newspaper states he was awarded the DCM in the Dardanelles ,  cannot find any trace anywhere of this or any award to him, no mention on his headstone, nothing on his MIC nor SDGW. Anyone shed any light on him, please. Ralph.

I have searched the London Gazette for the award of a DCM to this man and I'm afraid that there is no mention of him. Likewise, I have searched the database 'Citations of the Distinguished Conduct Medal, 1914-1920' as held on Ancestry and again, I have drawn a blank.
