Can anyone help to decode the handwriting below from 3 CCS in Jan 1917 for the above names soldier?  It’s the phrase that’s something like.        “ P U Ojugin” A number of soldiers seem to have the condition, including Evans.

He survived the war and i think was discharged in Nov 1917.

Pyrexia of Unknown Origin = He was running a high temperature/fever

A rather generic description - however commonly a feature of what was known as 'Trench Fever' [caused by the bacterium Bartonella quintana commonly found in the gut of the human body louse which was rife on troops].

Thanks Matlock.  I’d suspected something common and relatively minor but couldn't figure out the words…

I have one more if you can help again Matlock.  Different man, same regiment.  This was on his pension records so a more serious condition.  “Nept**tis”;.  100 year old medical terms  and pencil handwriting are not a helpful combination.  is there a handy guide anywhere to decode these?
