John,

There was an EMPRESS OF FORT WILLIAM which sank on an U-boat laid mine 2 miles south of the Dover Pier on February 27, 1916.

Best wishes,

Michael

Hello

EMPRESS OF FORT WILLIAM (2181 tons gross) was en route from South Shields for Dunkirk carrying coal.

Hello Michael and Don.Thanks for reply. The information I did not add it as follows, the crew were rescured by an American ship and taken to America where he ended up in a seamans mission. Is there anything sounding similar i.e Port.William/Talbot or Fort William/Talbot.

Is there anywhere I could look.

Thanks for your time and help.

Regards John.
