Remembered Today:

handwriting help - Arthur ??, MO at Bowhill Aux Hospital

I am trying to decypher the signature of the Medical Officer who signed the attached form, documenting 2 Lieut JR Taylor's admission to Craiglockhart. Looks like: 'Arthur _ _ _ _ _, MO, Bowhill'. Bowhill has an Auxiliary Hospital linked to Craiglockhart.

Any help gratefully received.

I want to say "Brock" since he was one of the chief medical officers there but it doesn't look like Brock. I would agree with "Arthur" - almost wondered if it was "McLean" afterwards.

Hi Annie. Its not Brock, I've seen his signature. And I can't see a 'McLean' candidate on the Medical Directory for the period. Its stereotypical doctors bad handwriting!

I've just found another document in the same series, with the surname 'corrected' ; it is 'Wilson'.

Thanks everybody for looking.

Happy New Year

Roger
