Eddie Bosano-Andrews Posted 14 March , 2005 Share Posted 14 March , 2005 It is exactly 90 years ago today that my Great Grandfather Henry Edward Andrews of the 2nd Bn The Northamptonshire Regiment was killed. He was 40 years old the same age as I am now, he had been in France since 29 December 1914, and appears to have come through the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, only to be killed the day after the battle officially ended. According to the War Diary the battalions billets were heavily shelled at 19:00, I think this is when he must have been killed. He left behind two daughters and one son all of whom I knew and his widow Eliza who died in 1952. Hanging on my living room wall are his Trio of Medals and Memorial Plaque.
