Ulster Tower

Today is the centenary of the inauguration of the Ulster Tower. A photo taken from 1987. You used to knock on the door of a house in Hamel, follow the people up to the tower then were free to climb. I’ve not been to the tower now for many many years, so I have no idea about access now.

Last few times I was there there was no access, so we consoled ourselves with ice cream and pop.

Looking towards Newfoundland park?

Yes, with Ancre cemetery, and the level crossing also visible.
