Gardenerbill Posted 15 November , 2021 Share Posted 15 November , 2021 Sat down with my other half last night to watch the Strictly Come Dancing results show. The show always starts with the professionals doing a dance routine and last night's had a Remembrance day theme. It started with 3 male dancers dressed in generic Great War infantryman's uniform. So far so good, then on came the female dancers clearly dressed in 1940's fashion. Was this a deliberate attempt to represent both wars or yet another example of a failure to be remotely historically accurate?
George Rayner Posted 15 November , 2021 Share Posted 15 November , 2021 I forgave them and hoped it was an effort to represent both periods George
Moonraker Posted 15 November , 2021 Share Posted 15 November , 2021 I would like to think so. Ever the pedant, I listened/watched/read some of the media coverage to see how inclusive of recent wars it was. The balance seemed more or less reasonable. But - pedantically, of course - it could be suggested that uniforms of post-WWII conflicts should also have been represented.
Steven Broomfield Posted 16 November , 2021 Share Posted 16 November , 2021 Sounds unbelievably naff to me.
