Admin Bob Davies Posted 31 October , 2021 Admin Share Posted 31 October , 2021 Hello all, while researching my Grandfathers evacuation from Gommecourt early March 1917, I came across this little gem of a book. 'Attack' by Edward George Downing Liveing. Link to book which is free here;https://archive.org/details/attackinfantrys00liveuoft/mode/2up In the book he gives an interesting account of his evacuation from the Hebuterne area to the CCS in the grounds of a chateaux close to the main Doullens to Arras road. I am not researching this Officer but thought to put up this post for those who are interested in casualty evacuation. The book is mentioned on the GWF in a number of different topics. Link to a map of the area, there may be a better one somewhere? Here;http://digitalarchive.mcmaster.ca/islandora/object/macrepo%3A70677 Regards, Bob.
