metal officer pips are they any different between ww1 and ww2 and the colour variations

Also on a shoulder lapel if it has a T after the crowns i guess that stands for Temporary is that ww1 or ww2 or either

There’s not generally any difference in the metal rank stars (pips) and crowns used between the two wars, no.  There was however, greater variety and usage of cloth equivalents during WW2 than WW1.

The T usually refers to Territorial and indicates that the wearer has a commission in the Territorial Force.  When cuff rank was worn the T was placed underneath collar badges.
