seaJane Posted 12 August , 2021 Share Posted 12 August , 2021 I am fair-to-middling sure that this photograph from INM archives shows the staff of the Royal Marine Infirmary, Deal, but what I am less sure of is the dates. The ancient dames in the second row back may be dressed in the costume of their younger days, but is there any clue in the Marines' uniforms? I am sure I recognise the MOIC's face. The name Stanistreet comes to mind for some reason, but who knows whether that's right?
seaJane Posted 12 August , 2021 Author Share Posted 12 August , 2021 NB the messenger boy in the middle. There's a cheeky face.
horatio2 Posted 13 August , 2021 Share Posted 13 August , 2021 Broderick caps shown were worn by RMLI and RMA from 1903. Fleet Surgeon Richard Weld W STANISTREET RN (if it be he) was serving in HMS INTREPID from 1 January 1913. A 1910-ish look to the image?
