stripeyman Posted 22 July , 2021 Share Posted 22 July , 2021 Would anyone know who shot down a AEG G 1V Bomber , 588/17 near Villers Bretonneux on 16 May 1918 ? I am not that good with RAF records, hence this request. Thanks, Bob
michaeldr Posted 22 July , 2021 Share Posted 22 July , 2021 Have you seen post No.4 here http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/showthread.php?t=62181 "... AEG G.IV serial 588/17, which was hit by anti-aircraft fire and force landed in flames near Villers-Bretonneux on 16 May 1918. Villers-Bretonneux at the time was occupied by Australian troops, who had only captured the town two or three weeks before. The crew of three were probably taken captive if they weren't killed....”
