@Phil B No he doesn't provide any figures about class based deaths and uses figures for officer deaths in comparison to ORs. He is of course conflating officer with members of upper social classes and using percentages to show thay suffered a higher rate of death. To be fair to Winter his prime aim is to prove the validity of the 'Lost Generation' and for this he uses deaths recorded by public school and universities. As I said in my previous post it is all rather unconvincing relies on assumptions which help to prove his assertion. I would imagine that Michael Gove and Anthony Seldon would approve of his analysis
